BOLZANO. The Cassa di Risparmio di Bolzano Foundation has purchased the “Cinema Capitol” building, ensuring theFilmclub activities. The president of the Foundation, Konrad Bergmeister, signed the purchase and sale contract of the building in Via Dott. Streiter and, at the same time, signed with the president of the Filmclub, Luigi Loddia multi-year rental contract, “ensuring cultural activities in the medium-long term”, reports a note.

The Filmclub, founded in 1978, moved to via Streiter in 2001, completely renovating the former Capitol cinema. The owner of the complex, the Merano native Tony Baur, who died in 2022, left instructions to his heirs so that this activity in the film sector would be guaranteed even after his death. The heirs identified the Sparkasse Foundation as the buyer who could provide the necessary guarantees so that the Cineclub activity could have continuity over time and thus the transfer of ownership took place. The Foundation has rented the building to the Filmclub for the next 25 years.
