Composer, singer Sevindzh Agasieva (SİVVA) and composer, arranger Jamal Gurbanov presented the famous song of outstanding Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov “Dağlar gızi Reyhan” in a new format, reports Day.Az.
In her new work, SİVVA attracted the attention of listeners with her performance of mugham.
“My dad Mamed Agasiev was a tar player. Mugham always sounded in our house. Therefore, I was extremely interested in working on this project, performing mugham. In the arrangement of the song, Jamal Gurbanov used elements of African ethnic music,” she emphasized.
Jamal Gurbanov noted that the song “Dağlar qızı Reyhan” was first performed by the People’s Artist of the USSR, an outstanding performer Rashid Behbudov, then it was sung by the People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Zeinab Khanlarova.
“The song has been performed by many modern singers. “Dağlar qızı Reyhan” is very popular among the people. Therefore, we decided to present it in a different format, to convey to the listeners our vision, our style. In general, our mission is to present folk and original songs to the listeners in a modern and a new format.
SİVVA is a performer distinguished by ethnic, classical and modern performance. This gave impetus to working on a joint project,” he added.
