R. Autukaitė joined the University of Kentucky, where she will work for the Wildcats women’s basketball team. The Lithuanian will work as an assistant to head coach Kenny Brooks, and at the same time will take on the role of player selection for the university team.

In the university’s history, the Wildcats team has reached the top eight of March Madness four times (1982, 2010, 2012, 2013) and is a regular participant in the prestigious USA basketball tournament.

R. Autukaitė, who worked at Virginia Tech, made a significant contribution to the fact that last year the team of the aforementioned university entered the top four of “March Madness” for the first time in the university’s history.

It is worth noting that after this season, Virginia Tech left the university since 2016-17. worked K.Brooks, who moved to the University of Kentucky and invited Lithuania to work together.

It is also interesting that Georgia Amoore, the team’s leader, who scored 18.8 points, 6.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game this season, also left the Virginia Tech team. The Australian already announced almost a week ago that she will represent the Wildcats team from next year.
