The The Attorney General’s Office has initiated a disciplinary investigation against the Minister of Science, Technology and Research, Ángela Yessenia Olaya Requenedue to alleged irregularities related to the information provided in his resume for his appointment.
The Disciplinary Investigation Chamber has announced the opening of this investigation after receiving complaints and observing publications in the media which suggest that the work experience reported by the official may not correspond to reality. Despite these suspicions, this information was used to appoint her as head of the ministerial portfolio.
The control body will focus on examining complaints related to Olaya Requene’s teaching experience in at least five universities, as well as the certifications provided by these educational institutions and the documents that would support their time and position in them.

The Attorney General’s Office has ordered the collection of evidence with the aim of determining whether irregular conduct has been committed.if these constitute disciplinary offenses and if there is any cause for exclusion of responsibility that must be considered in the process.
“The Public Ministry ordered the taking of evidence in order to establish the occurrence of allegedly irregular conduct, determine whether they constitute disciplinary offenses and define whether or not they acted under a cause of exclusion of responsibility,” said the Public Ministry.
The Attorney General’s Office will continue to investigate rigorously to clarify the facts and take the appropriate measures in this matter.
