Waspada.co.id – Cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) have recently been in the spotlight because they have infected many people in Indonesia. Moreover, in recent times, Indonesia has experienced extreme weather changes.
According to official data from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Wednesday (10/4), the total number of dengue fever cases in Indonesia in the 14th week of 2024 rose rapidly to 60,296 cases. Not only that, the number of deaths due to dengue fever has also increased to 455 deaths.
Even if the total cases are compared with the same week in 2023, the number appears to have jumped drastically, almost three times. The Ministry of Health reported that in the 14th week of 2023, the number of dengue infection cases was recorded at 20,502. Meanwhile, the death toll reached 162 cases.
Based on this data, it is known that the district/city that has the highest dengue cases in 2024 is Tangerang Regency with 2540 cases. Then in second place is the city of Bandung with a total of 1741 cases. Shifting slightly from Bandung City, West Bandung Regency recorded 1422 cases of dengue fever.
Apart from that, in fourth place is Lebak Regency which recorded 1326 cases and Depok City with a total of 1252 cases. Meanwhile, the district/city with the highest death rate from dengue fever in 2024 falls to Bandung Regency with a total of 25 deaths.
In second place is Jepara which recorded 21 people who died from dengue fever. Then followed by Subang Regency with a total of 18 deaths. Not only that, Kendal Regency is also in fourth place, reporting 16 deaths due to dengue fever. Then in fifth place is Bogor Regency with a total of 13 deaths.
Therefore, people should be more careful about bites from the Aedes aegypti mosquito which can trigger dengue fever. It is best to avoid puddles around your residence to minimize the breeding of mosquito larvae. (wool/okezone/ryp/d2)
