A joint committee was set up to oversee the project, based on a memorandum of understanding signed in October by the UAE Space Agency, the Israeli Space Agency and the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology.

The goals are to identify water resources, develop agricultural technologies, expand desert farming, eliminate environmental pollution, and detect global warming.

Sarah Bint Youssef Al Amiri, chairwoman of the UAE Space Agency, said the plans would help address challenges, including global warming. After the Kovid period, the UAE placed great emphasis on agricultural and food security projects. The aim is to reduce imports completely.
