Dubai തുടക്ക Launches UAE-Israel research projects and initiatives as part of strengthening cooperation in the fields of agriculture and space. The joint research is based on information provided by Israel’s new micro-satellite. Recommendations for this will be accepted at research centers in both countries until the 16th of next month. A joint committee was set up to oversee the project, based on a memorandum of understanding signed in October by the UAE Space Agency, the Israeli Space Agency and the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology.
The goals are to identify water resources, develop agricultural technologies, expand desert farming, eliminate environmental pollution, and detect global warming.
Sarah Bint Youssef Al Amiri, chairwoman of the UAE Space Agency, said the plans would help address challenges, including global warming. After the Kovid period, the UAE placed great emphasis on agricultural and food security projects. The aim is to reduce imports completely.
From water to sky
Plans will be drawn up to ensure water availability and cultivation in any climate. It is hoped that Israeli technology will be able to address many of the challenges facing desert agriculture.
Israel is at the forefront of technologies, including drip irrigation, without wasting water on agriculture. There is also an agreement to build bioblock type ponds where microbes and fish can grow together.
Cooperation will be strengthened in research and development of planets and galaxies, including Venus, and in the construction of space probes. The UAE is preparing for a lunar mission this year and Israel 2024. The information available will be shared by both countries.

Join hands in tourism
Dubai: The UAE Minister of Entrepreneurship and SME Dr. Mohd. Signed by Ahmed Belhaul Al Falasi and Israeli Tourism Minister Yol Ras Wozniacki. Various packages will be formulated to attract more people in business tourism, shopping tourism, conference tourism and adventure tourism. More than 2.5 million Israeli citizens have visited the UAE since the bilateral relations warmed up.
