Richard Madley, a long-time bidder in the IPL, has lamented that the BCCI has sidelined him for no apparent reason.

IPL is the highest grossing cricket T20 league series in the world. In the IPL, which started in 2008, 14 seasons have been successfully completed. The 15th season is set to begin at the end of March. The auction for the 15th season is going to be a mega auction. Mega auction is going on in Bangalore today and tomorrow.
590 players are being auctioned off in this mega auction. Of these, 370 are Indian players and 220 are foreign players. The mega auction will take place amid much anticipation. The auction is being conducted by Hugh Edmeets of the United Kingdom. Richard Madley, the auctioneer who ran the IPL from 2008 to 2018, has lamented the way the BCCI has treated him.
Speaking on the occasion, Richard Madley said, “Until 2018, I had successfully run the IPL auction. I finished the auction in 2018 and returned to the UK. I thought the BCCI would call me as usual to hold an auction for next season. But I was not called. Hugh Edmeets has been the IPL bidder since 2019. The BCCI did not inform me of the reason for their dismissal. I was not thanked for the work I did. It is a mystery why the BCCI does not want me to continue as an IPL bidder. He has no connection with the BCCI since then. “But my phone is ready to contact the BCCI,” Madeleine said.
