– You completed the World Championships held in Phuket, Thailand, with three silver medals. How would you comment on your performance?
– My joy knows no bounds. For the first time in my career, I won 3 silver medals at the World Championships. I made every effort to achieve this result. After a major operation and back-to-back competitions, it was very difficult to participate in this tournament. I did everything I could.
– Who would you single out among your main competitors at the tournament?
– My main rival was the world and Asian champion Akper Juraev. My main fight was against an Uzbek.
– What prevented you from winning the cup and gold medal?
– Unlike Dzhuraev, this year I participated in all competitions for a license for the Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024. I have an injury. But today’s result is not a small success.
– Then do you consider your performance satisfactory?
– I performed well, lifted 181 kg. But due to the movement of my hand, this result was not counted. If it had been counted, my result would have been better. Actually, they could have done it, there was a small mistake. Overcame 211 kg in the snatch. I didn’t want to lift more because of the injury. It hurted me.
– You said that you would compete in the heavyweight division. But they didn’t change their previous weight…
– Yes, I said that I would compete in the heavyweight division. I just couldn’t train due to injuries and fully adapt to the competition. To do this, I was forced to fight my weight again. I think I could achieve such a result if I competed at +109 kg.
