Both basketball players are convinced that “Crvena zvezda” did it specifically so that the other Belgrade club and permanent enemy in the national championship, “Partizan“, would not get the last ticket to the Euroleague playoffs.

Before the last round of the EuroLeague, a certain situation arose in the standings that “Crvena zvezda” could decide the fate of “Partizan”: if the “red star” had defeated “Anadolu Efes” on the road, then “Partizan” would jump into the Euroleague playoff train.

For the “Crvena zvezda” team itself, the match of the last round was no longer of any importance – it remained in the 16th position in case of victory or defeat.

And “Crvena zvezda” hopelessly lost 55:100 and drowned “Partizan” club.

Mathias Lessort, former star of Partizan team and now representing Panathinaikos, vented on Crvena zvezda team for such a desperate defeat and unwillingness to fight.

“This shit is ridiculous. Cheating the game will never do any good. Karma is a bitch,” the former Partzan midfielder wrote on the X social network.

Current Partizan captain Kevin Punter responded to this message.

“Very obvious!” wrote the American.

Partizan will finish the EuroLeague season on Friday with a home match against Valencia. Now they won’t decide anything.

By losing in Istanbul, “Crvena zvezda” managed to “blow up” two of its anti-records – scored the fewest points this season in the EuroLeague and lost by the biggest margin.
