The second phase of the school athletics championship was held on Wednesday, with the male and female athletes claiming their qualification for the Panhellenic Championship that will be held on April 22 and 23 in Serres.
In the school championship, specifically in the 2nd group in Piraeus, athletes from the Dodecanese participated, who had a good presence.

The announcement issued by SEGAS for information states the following:
“The second phase of the school championship took place on Wednesday (10/4) in seven groups across the country. High school athletes claimed their qualification to the Panhellenic Championship, which will take place in a few days (22-23/4) in the city of Serres.
There were great performances across the groups, with the budding champions showing early on in the season that they will challenge for participation and distinction in the summer’s top competitions.
During the day there were two performances better than the pan-Hellenic record in Women’s K18 shot put, however neither of them will be registered as a new record, as the games were played with the support of the coaches and not with judges.
The start was made in Agios Kosmas (2nd group) by Anastasia Andreadis, who sent the shot to 17.83m, a performance better than her own 17.76m. A few hours later, in the games held in Eleftheroupolis Kavala, Maria Rafailidou scored 18.04m. and became the first athlete of her age to overcome this barrier. The two athletes impress in every appearance and it is certain that the shot put will be one of the most exciting events in the category.
In the Piraeus group (2nd group) Vladimiros Andreadis prevailed in the 400m. with 48.13, while second in the same race was Kyriakos Tsikilis with 48.88. Antonis Zambelis ran the 2,000m. steeplechase in 6.11.17, while in the hammer throw Alexandros Rakopoulos was the winner with 63.49 meters. In the corresponding women’s event – with the instrument of the smallest category – Paraskevi Pulli was first with 62.88m. followed by 16-year-old Alexandra Chernova with 58.20m. a performance that is her individual record and a performance better than the limit for the European U18 (the limits do not apply in the B phase).
In Ioannina, the first group took place where Anestis Isaakidis achieved 7.10m. in length and showed that he can claim a place in the team for Banska Bystrica. Grigoris Koulouris performed very well in the triple jump with 15.42m. (0.7) performance that allows him to think with optimism about his presence in the European U18. 18-year-old Zoe Rapti was the winner in the triple jump with 13.13m. bettered her individual record with a performance better than the threshold for the World U20. Performances better than the qualification limits in the European K18 were achieved by Siderenios (hammer throw/68.25m), Zafeiridou (length/5.90m) and Zaraga (triple jump/12.81m). At 400m. among others, Kyriaki Tsaousi qualified with 64.49 and Zoe Zibilidou was first in the 400m. with 57.91.
The “silver” European K18 shot put champion, Dimitris Antonatos, now belongs to the Men’s K20 category and competed in the school championship with the 5k. ball which he had no problem sending to 20.60 meters and confirming his excellent condition. In the games that took place in Patras (3rd group), Vasiliki Athanasia also stood out in the 100m. with 12.36 (-0.1), Maria Varela with 64.99 in the low hurdles and Ioanna Peteinari with 55.71m. in the hammer throw.
In the Athens group, which took place in Agios Kosmas (1st group), Yannis Gartsios competed in his first race after the injury that kept him out of action in the winter and prevailed with 14.48 m in the triple jump.
Iulianna Roussou and Nelly Flutakou made it 1-2 in the 800m. with 2.11.31 and 2.11.71, respectively, scoring performances that will give them the right to claim qualification for the European U18 in the next matches.
In the length, 16-year-old Evelyn Mitropoulou was the winner with 6.00m. (0,0), which gives her the lead for the next round and also puts her on track for the European U18. Eleni Mama, winner of the triple jump with 12.46m, also claims a place for the same event. (0.2).
In the hammer throw, Sotiris Gentekos was the winner with 67.00m. The top athlete of the winter season worldwide in the K20 category, Anastasia Boumboulidis, cleared 3.70m. on the pole and then left the field of play. Panagiotis Aslamatzidis, winner of the javelin, also performed very well with 63.85m, a performance better than the limit for the European K18.
In Kavala (5th group) another rising pole vault champion, Georgia Tranou, cleared 3.50m. and then saved strength for the final phase of the event. In the same group, Vasiliki Samolada was the winner in the discus throw with 44.43 meters.
In Crete (7th group) Ioannis Liolios was first in the 400m. with 49.00 and 17-year-old Argyro Papaderaki in the 100m. with 12.33. Vasiliki Mourougianni, her age, also performed well in the 100m. emp. with 14.46. At 200 m. the up-and-coming sprinter, Sofia Kontogianni, was first with 24.03, while 17-year-old Chrysi Foulakis also left a good impression with 56.49 in the 400m, a performance that if she repeats in the near future, she will qualify for the European K18″.
