(ANSA) – GENOA, APRIL 12 – An inspection took place this morning in Bagni Capo Marina, in Corso Italia, by the councilor of the Municipality of Genoa for Maritime State Property Mario Mascia and the councilor for Tourism of the Liguria Region Augusto Sartori, during which was tested the new aid for disabled people, which will allow complete accessibility of the beach. The new vehicle is called Person Al Waron and is a self-propelled tracked device to aid the mobility of disabled people on any type of surface. Suitable, therefore, for moving on sand, pebbles and gravel, the vehicle allows people with disabilities to walk along the beach, reach the sea and immerse themselves completely in the water, but it could also be used for walks on grassy paths.
Giovanni Ottonello and Gianfranco Martini, respectively creator and producer of the new aid for the disabled, also participated in the presentation of the vehicle.
The new Person Al Waron arrives in Capo Marina after the “Swim Lift”, the sea lift successfully installed last summer which, with a gearmotor and a system of moving ropes, supports access to the sea and bathing.
“The large free beach of Capo Marina – said Mascia – confirms itself as the place of choice for experimenting and applying all the innovative technological solutions aimed at guaranteeing the accessibility and free use of the sea and the beach for the whole city, for Genoese but also to tourists, with particular attention to people with disabilities, elderly people and parents with children in tow. After the Swim Lift that we inaugurated last year, this new device implements accessibility to the sea and makes this beach a real and an incubator of sustainable ideas, projects and initiatives aimed at the total use of public spaces and goods”.
