The National Health Superintendence has taken measures against the EPS Valle del Cauca SOS, by carrying out a forced administrative intervention due to multiple non-compliance.

The Superintendent of Health, Luis Carlos Leal, announced the intervention, pointing out that the provision of services for members will continue without interruptions. «The legal representative has just been removed from the board of directors already to the shareholders meeting, and a special intervening agent has been appointed,” said Leal.

This forceful measure occurs just two days after the Minister of Health, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo, announced the issuance of a decree that would imply that the Administrator of the Resources of the General Health Social Security System (Adres) will begin to transfer resources directly to hospitals and clinics.
It has been specified that those EPS of the contributory regime that lack adequate assets will be subject to this measure, with the Ministry of Health empowered to monitor and audit said resources.
Superintendent Leal emphasized that no person linked to the EPS will be fired as a result of this intervention. «This measure is taken because, despite having a special surveillance measure, The EPS continued to fail to comply with some of its elements, especially in financial aspects and in the efficiency of care.«he added.
The health authority reiterated that users will not need to carry out additional procedures, since care will continue without interruptions.
