The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism has revealed that Colombia’s exports of non-mining goods experienced a growth of 25.3% in February of this year, reaching a total of 1,756 million dollars in sales abroad. This increase represents solid progress compared to the same period last year.
According to the analysis of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane), in the first two months of the year, Non-mining-energy exports amounted to 3,275 million dollarss, reflecting a increase of 10.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Luis Felipe Quintero Suárez, highlighted the commitment of the Government of Change with reindustrialization and diversification of the supply of goods from the territories. He pointed out that this positive performance in exports reflects the joint effort of the Government and the business sector to promote economic growth and international competitiveness.

The analysis also highlights that merchandise shipments not only increased in value, but also in volume. In February, more than 758,000 tons of Colombian products were shipped to the world, which represents an increase of 23.2% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the accumulated of the first two months of the year, around 1.45 million tons were exported, with a growth of 25.3%.
Among the factors that drove this performance, both the main destinations and the exported products stand out. The six main destinations, which represent 58.5% of total exports, increased their purchases of Colombian products by 8.1%. The United States leads these destinations, followed by Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Brazil and Venezuela, which registers an impressive growth of 26%.
This growth in exports to Venezuela consolidates the country as the sixth destination for Colombian exports, reflecting a significant increase in demand for Colombian products in the Venezuelan market.
