jpnn.comJAKARTA – Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi advised people who are returning to their hometowns to return early before the peak return flow for Eid 2024 occurs on Sunday-Monday.
“We don’t promise the day after tomorrow or Monday, because it is likely to be busy, especially on land routes. So I recommend that you return home tomorrow (Saturday 13/4). Not Sunday or Monday,” said Budi Karya in Tangerang, Friday (12/4 ).
He said that the predicted peak return flow for Eid 2024 is expected to occur on H+3 or Sunday (14/4) and H+4 or Monday (15/4).
Nevertheless, his party also asked travelers to return to Jakarta early before the peak of the Eid backflow occurs.
So, said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya, the possibility of bad incidents or traffic congestion on the road when returning can be avoided.
“We have prepared in detail how to deal with backflow. For air or sea routes, it can be practically controlled,” he said.
So far, the Ministry of Transportation has carried out mapping at several points prone to congestion during Eid backflow, including on the Cipali route, from Solo, Semarang to Cirebon.
Various steps and maximum efforts to ensure smoothness and service to the public during the Eid homecoming and returning transportation in all modes of transportation are guaranteed to be safe.
