Galaxy A55 5G: Specifications and Price for Middle Class Consumers”>Samsung will not support users of all of its smartphones for seven years. This was reported by the specialized publication SamMobile, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
Journalists recalled that the company had previously promised that owners of new devices would be able to count on seven years of support. Samsung has thus committed to releasing Android updates and security patches for seven years. However, then the company reduced these deadlines – the new practice will not apply to all gadgets.
The authors drew attention to the promotional materials of the Samsung Galaxy A55 and A35, the official release of which will take place on March 11. The teaser says that the phones will have four years of support with Android updates, and the devices will also receive five years of support with security patches.
According to journalists, this is a reasonable decision from the point of view of making a profit, since a long period of support will not motivate consumers to buy new smartphones. Only flagship owners can count on the fact that devices will receive Android updates for seven years.
