/ On Thursday, Naft Basra Club defeated its host Naft Maysan with a score of 2-1 in the 21st round of the Iraq Stars Football League.
The match took place at Maysan Olympic Stadium, and its start was delayed ten minutes from its scheduled time at three o’clock in the afternoon due to technical reasons. The referee also extended the first half for another quarter of an hour due to his repeated review of the VAR to verify the goals scored and other arbitration cases.
Naft Maysan scored first in the second minute by Yemeni professional Rami Al-Wasmani, and the equalizer goal for Naft Basra came from professional Jalson De Lima from a penalty kick in the 17th minute, and the same player returned to score the goal to advance Basra Naft in the 45th minute + 14.
In the second half, the match continued as it was until the end of the match.
The match witnessed the expulsion of Basra Oil team player Ahmed Saeed in the regular time of the first half for deliberately playing dangerously, so Basra Oil completed the match with ten players.
The television broadcast was cut off in the 83rd minute of the match due to an electrical fault that occurred in the stadium, which led to the entire broadcast system being cut off. The broadcasting channel blamed the Maysan Club management for this fault for not taking precautions for such emergencies.
The meeting was moderated by a refereeing team consisting of Ali Hussein Ali as referee, Karrar Dohan as first assistant, Baqir Salam as second assistant, Hamed Talib as fourth referee, and Muhammad Salman as “mouse” referee.
