For more than 160 years, Giuseppe Verdi’s work “Il Trovatore” remains one of the most popular in the world, primarily thanks to the beautiful music, which is rich in beautiful, free-flowing melodies, close to folk tunes. Embodying the fates and experiences of the heroes, the composer paid great attention to the life background of the unfolding events. The images of gypsies, monks, soldiers and other characters are drawn very colorfully.
Another performance was presented by the team of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, Day.Az reports.
“Il Trovatore” is an opera about irreconcilable enmity and devoted love, an opera of sharp contrasts, violent clashes and strong feelings characteristic of a romantic drama.
The party will be performed by People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Akram Poladov (Ferrando), Honored Artist Farida Mamedova (Leonora), Sabina Vahabzade (Azuchena), Farid Aliyev (Manrico), Tural Agasiev (Ruiz), soloist Taleh Yahyayev (Count di Luna), Nina Makarova ( Ines) and Ruslan Persan (Old Gypsy). Director – Honored Worker of Arts Hafiz Guliyev, Conductor – Chief Conductor of the Theater, Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Eyyub Guliyev, Choirmaster – Honored Worker of Arts Sevil Hajieva.
According to the plot, Count di Luna and troubadour Manrico do not realize that they are siblings. As it turned out, when they were children, the gypsy Azucena, out of revenge for her mother (she was burned at the stake on charges of witchcraft), decided to burn Manrico. But she made a mistake and burned her own child, and since then Azucena has been raising Manrico. Years have passed… Di Luna is fascinated by Countess Leonora, who, in turn, is in love with Manrico.
Manrico, preparing for his wedding to Leonora, learns that his mother has been captured by the Count’s soldiers. Deciding to save her, he himself is captured. Leonora, in order to rescue her beloved, agrees to marry the count, who promised to release Manrico. Leonora takes poison so as not to get it from the count, and when she goes to say goodbye to her beloved Manrico, she dies in his arms. When Count di Luna finds Leonora dead in the arms of an enemy, he orders Manrico’s execution. At the same time, when he shows the gypsy Azucena the executed Manrico, they say, look – this is your son, she exclaims: “Find out everything – it’s your brother! Mother, now you have been avenged!” These are such unusual passions…
