Kochi: CCTV footage of the accident that led to the death of a fisherman in Kaloor has been released. Meanwhile, police have registered a pox case against Jeethu and Sebastian who were in the car.
In the first instance, the police concluded that the race was the cause of the accident. However, the cannabis was seized from the car when the CCTV footage and the car were checked. Witnesses said two students were in the car. Subsequent tests revealed that the youngsters had been using synthetic drugs extensively.
The car which did not stop was later seized by the locals. But the girls were not in the car when the car was seized. Subsequent investigations revealed that they had dropped off the students. Examination and interrogation of the students revealed that they had used a wide range of synthetic drugs. Cannabis was also seized from the car.
Police are also investigating whether there was any sale or use of intoxicants of any kind other than in their vehicle.
