The open championship “Ojag Sport” is a good test for gymnasts before international tournaments.
As Day.Az reports, this was stated by the head of the board of the club, Vafa Bakarova, on Saturday Trend on the sidelines of the 4th Open Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship of the Ojag Sport club.
She emphasized that the tournament aroused great interest among young athletes.
“Baku alone is represented by more than 180 gymnasts, and together with the regions this figure is even greater. Everyone is trying, showing their skills. These competitions once again show how popular gymnastics is in Azerbaijan,” Bakarova noted.
According to her, international tournaments await the gymnasts of the Ojag Sport club.
“The calendar is very busy. There are competitions ahead in Georgia, Poland, the UAE, for which preparations have already begun. At the same time, we are keeping in mind the international tournament “Ojag Cup”, which will be held for the third time. Despite the fact that it will take place in the fall , a number of countries are already interested in coming to Baku,” Bakarova added.
It should be noted that the 4th Open Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship of the Ojag Sports Club is being held on April 4-6 at the Baku Olympic Sports Complex. More than 180 gymnasts take part in the competition.
Along with representatives of the Ojag Sport club, pupils of the Specialized Children and Youth School of Olympic Reserve in Gymnastics, the Republican Complex Sports School, the Aquatic Sports Palace, the Zira Cultural Center, the branch of the Ojag Sport club in the village of Govsan and Olympic sports complex in Shagan.
Competitions are held in several age categories.
