Last year, the UN invested $32.2 million in joint activities with Azerbaijan.

As Day.Az reported on Monday with reference to Trend, this was announced by UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva during a meeting of the Joint Government-UN Steering Committee for the implementation of the UN-Azerbaijan Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2021- 2025.”

“Azerbaijan was one of 40 countries that put forward their national commitments to achieve the SDGs ahead of the SDG Summit, which was organized last September. Together we can accelerate action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Last year we invested 32.2 million US dollars for the implementation of joint activities that were agreed upon,” she said.

It should be noted that on April 8, a meeting of the Joint Steering Committee of the government and the UN on the implementation of the “framework document on cooperation in the field of sustainable development between the UN and Azerbaijan for 2021-2025” was held.

At the event, plans for joint work to implement the framework document for 2024 were discussed and approved and the budget process and strategic directions for the financial year were determined.

In addition, during the event, the co-chairs of the results groups in 5 areas of implementation of the document summed up the results of 2023 and named priority areas for 2024.
