On March 15, the opening of the exhibition “Culture of Clothing and Jewelry Art of the Turkic Peoples” will take place at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
The exhibition dedicated to the Nowruz holiday and the 15th anniversary of its inclusion in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity will be organized jointly by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, Day.Az reports.
The exhibition will feature traditional women’s costumes and jewelry from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan. The patterns, the material from which these artistic samples are made, and their ornamentation will create a rich impression on viewers about the unique national characteristics, traditions, natural and geographical conditions of the area where they live, the thinking and way of life of the Turkic peoples.
The exhibition features exhibits from the collections of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Association of Hungarian Folk Crafts and private collector Virginia Morgan-Hayat.
