The second season of “Rabo de Peixe”, a Portuguese Netflix series, is already being filmed.
The announcement was made by the streaming platform itself, with a short teaser on Instagram. “Look who washed ashore”, the caption reads. For now, some scenes have been filmed in Lisbon, followed by the Azores.
Premiered in May 2023, “Rabo de Peixe” quickly became the most popular Portuguese series on Netflix, even appearing in the top 10 most watched series in languages other than English.
“Rabo de Peixe” is based on a true story, which occurred in 2001, when a sailboat sank off São Miguel, with half a ton of cocaine on board. The series features names such as José Condessa, Helena Caldeira, Rodrigo Tomás, André Leitão, Maria João Bastos, Afonso Pimentel and Pepê Rapazote.
