Former AIADMK minister Jayakumar has criticized the DMK government for trying to change the Tamil New Year on April 14 every year.
While talking to the media during the election campaign in Chennai, he said that while the Tamil New Year is being celebrated on April 14 every year, the DMK tried to change Siddhartha to the Tamil New Year. He said that general civil law should not be implemented in India, which has a diverse culture, and said that no one will accept a general civil law that affects diverse people and will not allow the general civil law to be allowed in Tamil Nadu.
