The authorities of the Salvadoran Social Security Institute (ISSS) inaugurated a modern medical unit in Santa Tecla that will benefit more than 100,000 beneficiaries.
The director of the ISSS, Monica Ayala, announced the opening of these modern facilities that incorporate four levels where 35 medical specialty and subspecialty offices are distributed, as well as support services and common areas.
At level 1, the maximum pediatric emergency, birth room, maximum adult emergency, small surgery, adult emergency, pediatric emergency, adult and pediatric observation will be enabled. On the second level is the pharmacy, the clinical laboratory, gynecology and obstetrics, as well as the management.
On the third level there is internal medicine, orthopedics, physiatry, surgery, social work, general medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, pediatrics, breastfeeding room, employee dining room and the chapel. While the fourth is located in occupational medicine, nutrition clinic, general medicine and administration.
New services are also incorporated into the Santa Tecla Medical Unit, including the pediatric and adult maximum emergency unit, a breastfeeding room, a rest area for medical staff and an employee dining room; It will also benefit 100,000 beneficiaries who reside in the areas surrounding Santa Tecla, Comasagua, Nuevo Cuscatlán, Colón and Sitio del Niño, among others.
“Our new Santa Tecla Medical Unit was a project that others in more than 30 years did not even think about due to lack of political interest. This day we can deliver this new property so that it becomes our second center with a soul,” added director Ayala Guerrero.
