Whirlpool launches initiative to care for water

Due to the current conditions regarding climate change and the water crisis experienced in some regions, Whirlpool launched its new initiative called “Mission H2OY” with which it seeks to promote real change to take care of water from home.

According to data revealed by the home care technology company, Water scarcity affects 4 out of 10 people in the worldand it is expected that by 2050, half of the population will not have access to water.

That is why the company has dedicated itself to the development of technologies focused on reducing water consumption and carbon emissions in its products. Currently, Whirlpool washing machines they use on average 78% less energy and 50% less water than 30 years ago, while its capacity has increased by 60%.

“We are very happy to launch this campaign on a day as relevant as today. Caring for water should be the most important thing for everyone.. Today we must act with small and large actions from home. Today the new challenge is to preserve everyone’s future. Today we say H2OY,” commented Marcela Morales, LATAM Marketing Leader.

One of the objectives of the “Mission H2OY” campaign is that followers will be able to actively participate and share content related to conservation and awareness about the importance of caring for this natural resource.

Currently, Whirlpool collaborates closely with organizations such as “Habitat for Humanity” to bring water and technology to communities in need. In Mexico and Guatemala, they have donated washing equipment to more than 800 peoplegenerating a positive impact on their lives and the environment.
