A young family with a one and a half year old baby is visiting Vratsa. The grandfather brought out a legally owned rifle to demonstrate how to shoot sparrows.
It is not clear how the rifle ended up in the hands of an 11-year-old child and whether he fired the shot or the rifle fell and exploded, but the child was wounded in the head.
According to Dr. Teodora Genova, a report of an injured child was received from the emergency center in Vratsa via telephone 112. The call was about a child who had fallen and hit his head, a team was dispatched.
A second call was received, in which there was aggressive behavior on the part of the relatives of the injured child. It was loaded into a taxi and taken to the emergency center. There was a wound on the right forehead.
After an examination, it was found that the baby’s condition was serious and the doctors contacted the Ministry of Health. The department assisted in sending a Cougar helicopter from the Krumovo air base to take the child to Pirogov in Sofia.
