jpnn.comJAKARTA – Political observer and Executive Director of Indonesian Political Parameters (PPI) Adi Prayitno assesses that the testimony of four Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet at the 2024 Presidential Election dispute hearing has broken the narrative of misuse of social assistance which is often mentioned by the legal team for candidate pairs 01 and 03.

“The four ministers’ explanations actually benefited candidate pair 2 and were detrimental to candidate pairs 1 and 3. Because all of the four ministers’ explanations were very procedural, in accordance with regulations, and the social assistance policy had been approved by the DPR,” said Adi, Monday (8/4/2024).

Adi added that the explanations from the four ministers were valid and comprehensive enough to refute accusations of misuse of social assistance which violated the APBN Law and benefited candidate pair 02, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

“In fact, the four ministers’ explanation emphasized that social assistance is indeed on the right track and has no political elements. And, denied that there was any politicization of social assistance. “Moreover, the data submitted by the 4 ministers is quite valid and comprehensive,” he said.

Furthermore, Adi said that the summons of the four ministers was not based on granting the requests of camps 01 and 03 but rather because of the MK’s initiative to provide understanding to the public in a transparent and accountable manner regarding the social assistance polemic.

“I am actually grateful and grateful to the Constitutional Court because this is an initiative. This is the desire of the Constitutional Court to show to the public that the issue of social assistance is not being covered up. “The most important thing is that this is a form of accountability and transparency that the Constitutional Court actually wants to show so that everything is clear,” he said.

Furthermore, Adi said that the presentation from the four ministers also provided a comprehensive explanation regarding social assistance, which was not piecemeal as alleged by the plaintiff.
