Inflation fell in March and landed at 4.1 percent, Statistics Sweden‘s new figures show on Friday. The inflation measure is the CPI, consumer price index, which measures the price development of a basket of goods and services.
In February, the inflation rate was 4.5 percent.
The decline is greater than expected. Most analysts expected inflation figures of around 4.4-4.6 percent.
According to Statistics Sweden, interest costs have contributed upwards by 2.1 percentage points, while food prices have decreased.
The rate of inflation according to CPIF, which unlike the CPI is not affected by changes in interest rates on household mortgages, was 2.2 percent in March, Statistics Sweden writes in a press release. The corresponding figure for February was 2.5 percent.
