On April 5, the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of COP29 Samir Nuriyev met with the Director General of the Department for the Central and West Asia region of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Yevgeny Zhukov.
As Day.Az reports with reference to AZERTAC, an exchange of views took place at the meeting on cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Asian Development Bank and the preparation process for COP29.
Samir Nuriyev said that this year marks the 25th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the Asian Development Bank, saying that the country highly values this cooperation. He noted the projects being implemented in Azerbaijan towards the development of the green transition agenda.
Touching upon the preparation activities for CO29 under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Samir Nuriyev informed his interlocutor about the work being done by the country to organize this prestigious event at a high level.
Congratulating Azerbaijan on its election as the party that will host COP29, Yevgeny Zhukov especially noted the work done by the COP29 chairmanship in a short period of time. He emphasized that the Asian Development Bank intends to closely cooperate with our country in connection with COP29 and provide technical support.
Yevgeny Zhukov expressed satisfaction with the successes achieved by Azerbaijan in the field of economic diversification and the “green transition” and emphasized that the Asian Development Bank is ready to contribute to this process.
