The result of the match was opened by the Latvians with two shots from under the basket and a long shot, to which Austria answered with one point. On Friday, Latvian basketball players started the qualifying tournament with two victories, defeating Mongolia (2nd) with 21:16 and New Zealand (7th) with 21:10, and on Saturday they defeated Egypt (6th) with 21:12, in Group B with three victories taking first place.
Three of the eight tickets in the men’s competition were already won by Serbia, the USA and China, which were in the first three in the world ranking on November 1. Two more qualifying tournaments will be held, in which four more tickets will be played.
