The Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev (ACC) in Uzbekistan, together with the Tashkent State Transport University, held an event entitled “Great Azerbaijani Figure”, dedicated to the Uzbek writer, poet, playwright of Azerbaijani origin Maksud Sheikhzade (1908 – 1967), the ACC reported to Day.Az .
It should be noted that Maksud Sheikhzadeh is the author of translations into Uzbek of works of world literary classics
At the opening of the event, Deputy Director of the ACC Nadir Alimirzoev spoke about the influence of Maksud Sheikhzade’s creativity not only on literature, but also on all areas of Uzbek culture and art.
It was noted that the ACC always pays attention to the creativity of Maksud Sheikhzadeh, supports the project of preparing publications, films, articles and television programs related to his life and activities, and also conducts conferences and seminars.
Vice-Rector of the Tashkent State Transport University Dilshod Baratov emphasized that the works of Maksud Sheikhzadeh are of great importance in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, adding that it is extremely important to promote the works of Sheikhzadeh among young people.
Dilshod Baratov expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan for organizing the event and for the constant cooperation with the Tashkent State Transport University.
Advisor to the Rector for Literature and Humanitarian Affairs of the Tashkent State Transport University, Sharmatulla Yusupov, emphasized that Maksud Sheikhzadeh wrote valuable works that played an invaluable role in the education of several generations.
The head of the Uzbek language department of the Tashkent State Transport University, Nafisa Rakhmatullayeva, said that Maksud Sheikhzadeh left valuable works not only for Uzbek, but also for Azerbaijani literature.
Next, the documentary film “Dear Man”, dedicated to Maksud Sheikhzadeh, was shown.
The film reflects the opinions and memories of scientists, artists and cultural figures of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan about the work of Maksud Sheikhzade.
In the literary and artistic part of the event, with the participation of students, poetic compositions from the works of Maksud Sheikhzad were presented.
