Jefferson Farfan would like to invite some former FC Schalke 04 stars to his farewell game. However, finding an appointment is difficult.

Gelsenkirchen – Jefferson Farfan played for FC Schalke 04 from 2008 to 2015 and played his way into the hearts of the fans in his 227 appearances (53 goals and 67 assists). The Peruvian sprinted up and down the right wing and, especially together with right-back Rafinha, formed a congenial duo for the Royal Blues.

In December 2022, Jefferson Farfan, who was known at Schalke for legendary parties in his house, announced his retirement after playing for his hometown club Alianza Lima in Peru for two seasons. Stopped by several injuries, the winger only made 17 appearances (four goals).

Around a year and a half later, the now 39-year-old is now planning to give his career one last highlight with a farewell game. “We are currently in discussions. We don’t have a date yet, but we’re talking about it, and God willing, it should be as soon as possible,” said the ex-Schalke star on the show “Estas en Todas”.

Jefferson Farfan is currently looking for a date on which “all my friends from abroad, from Europe, with whom I spent the time, can come”. However, due to the European Championship 2024 in Germany and the Copa America taking place at the same time in the United States, it will be difficult to find a date in the summer.

However, if it works out, the former Schalke professional is planning on having a star-studded squad, according to Peruvian media. Players like Raul, Manuel Neuer, Ivan Rakitic, Julian Draxler, Ibrahim Afellay and Rafinha, who recently won the 26th title of his career, are being discussed from earlier S04 times.

Jefferson Farfan won the DFB Cup with Schalke 04

Jefferson Farfan played by far the most games of his career for the S04. He won the DFB Cup with the “Knappen” in 2011. In the subsequent Supercup success, Peru’s 102-time national player was not part of the squad.

After his time in Gelsenkirchen, the Peruvian played for Al-Jazira in the United Arab Emirates and Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia before returning home to Alianza Lima in March 2021.
