Nikos Karvelas: “I don’t have any money, I never had, I used to sing for 1 euro a day”

by time news

On Saturday, April 13, Nikos Karvelas was a guest on Natalia Germanou’s show “Kalytera dendo meda”. The well-known music composer commented on the situation in the country, talked about his journey and the difficult times he has experienced.

When he lost his money for the “Demons

“At the time, we had appealed to the Ministry of… Culture and the answer was – not negative – … it didn’t even exist. In England there were musicals that made the country famous all over the world through the specific works. In Greece, the heads of the Ministry decided that the man who wrote “Demons” is worthless”, recalls Nikos Karvelas.

“Then Annula and I put all our money to raise her. We lost all our money and I left for England. This country had “broken” me terribly. All I got back then was that the Church wanted to excommunicate me as a Satanist,” adds the composer.

“The criticism at the time for “Demons” was: the music of Nikos Karvelas is a mess and it only has meatballs. I don’t pretend to be great, but “Demons” was a very serious matter musically. She was noticed by all the people who had come from abroad, the protagonist of Phantom of the Opera, who literally knelt before me. The director of the Monte Carlo opera house asked me: can I touch you?” Nikos Karvelas then describes.

Anyone who says they are anti-systemic is dumb

And the anti-systemic live within the system. An anti-systemic lives outside the city, in the mountains. So I’m systemic too. That’s why I also try as much as I can to be anti-systemic with things that come to me spontaneously.

2-3 times I worked in my life… I did the “singer”. Delete this from the minutes, please. I was getting a lot of money I remember and I felt really bad. Many times I felt terrible that new guys came and left so much money and in the end I got a bunch of money”, admits Nikos Karvelas about the “golden times” of the discography.

For Tempi

“I cannot fathom the pain of these parents who lost their children, as this minister Spyridon-Adonis was able to do… known. I asked: have any of his children died? Then he can’t talk so he lies and pretends. Pretending about human suffering and looking so obscenely a liar and hypocrite should be punished very badly”, commented Nikos Karvelas.

“These people should be held accountable and suffer a lot,” the noted composer said of the crime in Tempe.

“If I had to decide who should pay, the Constitution says it: the head of State, the person responsible for the ministers is the prime minister and the next (responsible) is the Minister of Transport. He signed the 717 contract and they did not warn the citizens not to enter the trains, because they are dangerous for their physical integrity”, underlines Nikos Karvelas.

His book “Noosophy»

“I have been writing this book for more than 13 years. The first time I read it I felt a little bad and wrote it again. I gave it to my brother to read and he didn’t understand what the book was saying. And I rewrote it until I said no more because this was tiring me. I was writing it to offer people of all societies.”
