A new warning from the British Foreign Office identifies “Libya” as one of the destinations not allowed to be visited; Due to “the seriousness of the fragile local security situation, which could quickly deteriorate into violent fighting and clashes without warning,” according to the British Foreign Office.

The British Foreign Office announced a list of 24 countries, including Libya, among the “extremely dangerous” travel destinations on Thursday, that is, before the armed clashes in Tripoli.

The British Foreign Office confirmed that its warnings regarding travel to Libya have remained in place continuously since 2014, and advised its citizens to leave immediately by any practical means, stressing that “all trips to, from and within Libya are the responsibility of the traveler,” against the backdrop of what it described as “the fragile local security conditions that… “It can quickly deteriorate into heavy fighting.”

According to the British Foreign Office, local violence may erupt between armed groups in the capital and the surrounding area in a short time without warning, while foreign forces and mercenaries continue to deploy throughout the country.

The British Foreign Office also considered that protests and civil unrest could erupt in a short time, including demonstrations against deteriorating living conditions, corruption and continuing political instability, as the response of local security forces “may be unexpected, and there is a high risk of arrest or injury to civilians if They were trapped in the demonstrations.”

The ministry said, “Fighting between armed groups can pose a major threat to air travel in Libya, and this fighting has periodically caused the temporary suspension or closure of airports, and therefore all Libyan airports are considered vulnerable to closure due to armed clashes.”

The British Foreign Office warned of “attempts by terrorists to carry out attacks in Libya, as there remains a significant threat across the country from terrorist attacks and kidnappings against foreigners, including from extremists affiliated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda, in addition to armed militias.”
