Football: Kylian Mbappé announces his departure from PSG (media)
Paris – French striker Kylian Mbappé announced to the leaders of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) his intention to leave the capital club at the end of the season, several French media reported on Thursday, citing a source close to the club.
Arriving in Paris in 2017 from Monaco, the captain of the French team (25 years old) had extended his lease in 2022 until 2024, but refused last summer to activate a clause allowing him to remain a additional year at PSG.
“The conditions of departure must still be fully agreed,” the media further specify, adding that the capital club and Mbappé will officially communicate “when everything is finalized in the coming months”.
The French star played 290 matches for Paris Saint-Germain for 243 goals, becoming the top scorer in the history of the capital club.
Mbappé has been free since January to join the club of his choice. The preferred track is a signing for Real Madrid, according to the press.
