Madrid: Amina Bouayach awarded for her commitment to the protection of human rights

The Prize was presented to the Ambassador of Morocco to Spain, Ms. Karima Benyaich, by the President of the Spanish Council of State, Ms. Carmen Calvo, during a ceremony organized on the occasion of the 7th International Conference on Women and Diplomacy”.

This Prize illustrates Morocco’s constant commitment and progress in promoting human rights and the situation of women, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, underlined Ms. Bouayach, dedicating this tribute to ‘ ‘all women who deserve our admiration for their daily struggle and to all those who need our support and recognition for their daily efforts in their fight for women’s rights’.

”My presidency of an institution as prestigious and strategic as the CNDH, with all the impact it has had and continues to have on the process of evolution of human rights in Morocco, is an honor for me, because it reflects Morocco’s desire to allow women to access positions of responsibility for more than two decades,” said Ms. Bouayach in a video speech, noting that the progress made in Morocco has ”undeniably contributed to the transformation of Moroccan society and the restructuring of relations between its different components”.

”Today, it is our responsibility to go beyond individual actions and initiatives and promote human rights standards as a prerequisite for progress towards equality, justice and innovative thinking that supports our goals common,” she also indicated.

”I am convinced that we are all capable of renewing the life trajectories of women, by allowing each of them to lead a success story and a unique and differentiated path towards equality as a pillar of cooperation North-South,” concluded Ms. Bouayach.

In this regard, the jury praised ”the exemplary career of Amina Bouayach who embodies the incessant struggle for justice, equality and human rights in Morocco”, noting that her ”dedication and determination will continue to shine beyond the borders of Morocco.

”A prominent figure in the defense of human rights in Morocco, Ms. Bouayach promotes an inclusive vision and a firm commitment to build a better future for all,” underlined the jury.
