24 hours ago, news shook the web reporting a demonstration by young people and women who would protest against the head of the special delegation of the urban commune of Boké, this Monday, April 15, 2024.
With his experience and managerial abilities, the governor of the administrative region of Boké, did not hesitate to take off his leadership coat to go to his brothers and sisters whom he asked to put Boké ahead of all interests. This outstretched hand was accepted by the rebels on the back burner in the neighborhoods.
This is how a breach of negotiations involving all the stakeholders, in particular the active forces of the urban commune of Boké, was launched. Happy conclusions from this mediation meeting allowed the conscious youth of Boké to write another beautiful page in their common history.
At the microphone of the AGP, Governor Mamadou Camara spoke:
“Precisely, it was a question of meeting up this morning, drawing conclusions from all the negotiations started since Saturday morning. As you know, the nomination of the members of the special delegations has been on the radio since last Friday. And since then, negotiations have begun among citizens who have reached a consensus to say that they do not agree with the head of the special delegation which would come from the rural commune of Bintimodia. Malicious remarks have been made held with serious accusations made against the Prefect and his staff for having worked behind closed doors without involving the different protagonists for the designation of the members of the special delegation of the CU of Boké.
In Boké, underlines the governor, citizens were keen to organize sit-ins with very hostile slogans and, moreover, we learned that signs had been prepared for this purpose.
Further on, our interlocutor added: “And when there was a recurrence with women who had taken part in the dance and had promised to go out this Monday in the streets dressed wearing scarves and red T-shirts to ask for the pure and simple cancellation of this list, so immediately, we did not delay in calling an emergency meeting of the actors of the movement, at my home, from 9 p.m. until 3 a.m….”
Thus, he said, the leaders of the movement who did not have the power to decide anything in place of their constituents, asked to withdraw to return to discuss with their colleagues. And this morning, they returned to the negotiating table in the hope of finding a favorable outcome to the crisis facing the urban commune of Boké.
At this meeting, indicates Mamadou Camara, we largely listened to the anger of the citizens, the grievances of all were also heard, this is how we asked them to kindly agree to postpone this movement because everything simply, the time does not lend itself to it and so that the momentum of development that the urban commune of Boké has initiated, through the ambitious projects initiated by the Head of State, General Mamadi Doumbouya does not experience any distortion.
In addition, the regional governor made it clear that all neighboring sub-prefectures were informed of this movement, the elements of which had already arrived in Boké-ville, they were not waiting for the green light to begin barricading the doors and windows of the prefecture court preventing any access to any authority.
At the end of the meeting, the number one of the Boké Region invited the rebels (wise men, young people and women) to draw up memos which he will personally transmit to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization (MATD) for examination and decision.
According to certain indiscretions, the youth of Boké reassured the Regional Authority that its movement is apolitical because it only fights for peace, the unity of action of the girls and daughters of Kakandé.
For this youth who would demand the departure of the prefect and his Secretary General, “The dignity and respect of the wise men of Boké constitute the leitmotif for a united and emerging Boké…”
According to the governor of Boké, “This special delegation affair is only a straw that broke the camel’s back because there were certainly frustrations which had accumulated for years or months, the appointment of the special delegation was the detonating effect of this whole situation.
It should be remembered that the memos containing the sticking points of wise men, women and young people are expected in the coming hours on the table of Governor Mamadou Camara who mediates brilliantly.
It is useful to remember that there was no gathering or hostile movement on the ground in Boké.
