A lion cub was rescued by Guadalajara authorities, after they responded to an alert that informed them that the animal was inside a home.
The lion was identified as “Gatito” and was seized by elements of the Guadalajara police, upon entering a home in the Insurgentes neighborhood.
A man was found inside and stated that he was the owner of the three-month-old specimen, whom he called “Kitten.” He also shared with the uniformed officers that he had the papers that showed that his ownership of the lion was legal.

Despite showing the documentation, authorities found that it did not meet certain aspects to be able to take care of the lion cub, so they proceeded to secure it.
According to local media, the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (Profepa) determined that the habitat in which the man had the specimen was not adequate.
Authorities determined that the puppy would be taken to the Villa Fantasía Zoo in Zapopan, in which the owner arranges the ownership papers and obtains a space for the animal to develop correctly.
