Over 32 million was spent by the six parliamentary forces in 2023. This is clear from their annual financial statements published by the Court of Auditors.

BGN 10,665,000 is the amount indicated by “Continuing the change” as an expense for last year. “Change” indicated that more than half of the money spent went to the two campaigns – BGN 6.142 million. The rest of the money went to materials (BGN 165 thousand), external services (BGN 2.249 million), remuneration and insurance (BGN 2.044 million) and financial costs (BGN 13,000). Another 52 thousand BGN are indicated as having gone to “other expenses”. Compared to 2022, “Change” has spent far less – only BGN 717 thousand.

891 thousand BGN were spent by DSB. Their income is about BGN 811,000, of which BGN 541,000 comes from the state subsidy, BGN 232,000 from donations, BGN 5,000 from membership fees and BGN 33,000 from other sources.

9,243,000 – this is how much the GERB party spent in 2023. GERB gave the most money for administrative expenses – BGN 3.765 million. In second place are the expenses for the maintenance of the party’s offices – BGN 2.752 million. The expenses for the two pre-election campaigns from last year are in third place, with the local vote costing more – BGN 1.377 million. The campaign for the parliamentary elections cost Borisov’s party BGN 1.25 million. Another BGN 70 million was spent on donations and BGN 29 million on interest and bank fees.

BGN 3,117,000 was spent by the DPS. The reported income from the movement is BGN 3,232,000 million. Of this, BGN 2.775 million is from the state subsidy, and they received BGN 453 thousand from membership fees. They have unpaid expenses of BGN 72 thousand, and they gave for business trips BGN 16 thousand

5,372,000 BGN was spent by BSP. Of these, the party gave about BGN 1.7 million for elections and BGN 2,412,000 for ongoing political activities. The Socialists’ income is BGN 5,213,000, with BGN 1,785,000 coming from the state subsidy, and BGN 1,063,000 from membership fees. BGN 1,614,000 went to salaries and insurance contributions. Unconditional donations amount to BGN 1,928,000.

In 2023, “Vazrazhdane” had the biggest expenses for the elections, with BGN 722,162.82 spent on parliamentary elections on April 2, and BGN 945,772.82 on local elections on October 29.

Interestingly, the party has no income from membership fees. Otherwise, the party received a state subsidy in the amount of BGN 2,659,514. They have also recovered BGN 1,400 in a civil case. In total, the party received donations worth BGN 367,212.

Two out of a total of 124 parties have not submitted their financial reports and lists of donors for 2023 by the deadline. These are the “Green Union” and “Clean, United and Sovereign Fatherland” parties. The fine for this is between BGN 5 and 10 thousand. Two other parties submitted reports after the deadline – “Balkan Democratic League” and “Edinenie” of the former deputy minister and MP from “We continue the change” Ivan Hristanov.

677 thousand BGN have been spent for 2023. “There is such a people”. Of these, 212 thousand BGN went to administrative expenses. Their income is BGN 962,000, of which BGN 35,000 is from membership fees, BGN 111,000 is from donations, and BGN 816,000 is a party subsidy.
