On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the prominent composer, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mirishli (1934 – 2015), the play “Amerikalı kürəkən” (American Son-in-Law) was shown on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, Day.Az reports. The author of the libretto is writer-playwright Marat Akverdiev, composer – Ramiz Mirishli.
After the show, Honored Artist Akper Alizade spoke about the creative activity of the prominent composer and his contribution to Azerbaijani culture.
Then, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Ilham Namig Kamal shared his memories of Ramiz Mirishli, emphasizing that along with the production of “American Son-in-Law”, he also participated in Ramiz Mirishli’s operetta “Qısqanc ürəklər” (Jealous Hearts).
It should be noted that the play “American Son-in-Law,” which has been on stage at the theater since 2010, occupies a special place in its repertoire.

People’s artist Ilham Namig Kamal, honored artists Ighar Salamov, Akper Alizade, actors Rasmiya Nurmamedova, Gulchohra Abdullayeva, Samedzade Khasiev, Alimamed Novruzov, Gultaj Alili, Gulnara Azizova, Ruslan Mursalov, Mehriban Rajabova, Nigar Garaeva, choir and ballet artist are engaged in the performance.
