Ignacio Torres, governor of Chubut, was traveling this Tuesday, April 16, on an Aerolíneas Argentinas flight that had to be interrupted due to an incident. Airline security detected a suspicious package, so this noon the emergency protocol was activated. Although the possibility of a bomb threat was initially considered, it was later ruled out by the airline itself.
As confirmed by official sources, the event occurred around 12 at the Trelew airport, Almirante A. Zar, prior to the boarding of Aerolíneas Argentinas flight AR 1807, bound for Aeroparque, in the City of Buenos Aires. Upon discovery of the suspicious package, The passengers were protected, among whom was the governor of Chubut.

Airport Security Police (PSA) personnel were notified following the discovery of an unlabeled package in the warehouse. At no time was a specific bomb threat made nor was there a written message, phone call, or any type of message with intimidating content.
According to Aerolíneas Argentinas, “it was confirmed that the package was part of the cargo of the plane that had departed from Aeroparque to the Trelew airport. Part of the packaging was damaged in transit and his identification was not visibleso we proceeded to comply with the notification protocol to the authorities.”
