The game between Udinese and Roma, on the 32nd round of the Italian championship, was suspended this Sunday after 70 minutes, after Evan Ndicka fainted and was taken off the pitch on a stretcher.

The 24-year-old Ivorian international collapsed after 70 minutes of play and his teammates immediately called the Roman club’s medical team, who were quickly attended to by the emergency services.

In the images from the television broadcast, it was possible to see that Ndicka was conscious, giving a thumbs up sign to say that he was fine.

Daniele De Rossi, Roma coach, followed the player to the corridor of the Udinese stadium to find out about the situation, ending up returning to the side of the pitch to talk to his players.

After speaking with the coaches of both teams, the match referee decided to suspend the match, which was tied at 1-1 at the time Evan Ndicka felt unwell.

“Following an illness suffered by Evan Ndicka on the field, the match against Udinese was suspended. The player is conscious and was transported to the hospital, where he will undergo tests. Come on Evan, we are all with you!”, wrote the Italian club in the social media.
