Taean-gun Baeksajang Port ‘Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project’ held a completion ceremony. The county announced that it held the ‘Baeksajang Port Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project One Mind Banquet’, which also served as the project completion ceremony, on the 15th at Baeksajang Port in Anmyeon-eup, with the attendance of about 100 people, including the governor of Gasero County, fishing village fishing aviation corps officials, members of the National Assembly, provincial and county lawmakers, and local residents. .

Held at the newly built multi-purpose fishermen’s center, the event included a progress report, awarding of appreciation plaques, commemorative remarks from residents’ representatives, congratulatory remarks from key guests including the Governor of Gasero County, and a tape cutting to announce the completion of the project.

Baeksajang Port was selected as a target site for the Fishing Village New Deal 300 project in December 2019, and will be listed as the third completion site in Taean-gun in 2021, following Gaeuido Buk Port (August) and Gagyeongju Port (December).

The Fishing Village New Deal 300 project is a community-based living social overhead capital (SOC) project that the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has promoted since 2019 to lead the innovative growth of fishing villages, and 70% of government funding is provided when the project is selected.

In Taean-gun, 10 locations, including Baeksajang Port, were selected as target sites and achieved the feat of securing a total project cost of KRW 75.1 billion. A total of KRW 6.516 billion was spent on this Baeksajang Port project (KRW 4.561 billion in national funds and KRW 586 million in provincial funds). Won, military expenses (1.369 billion won) were invested.

According to the county, this project improved fishing convenience for fishermen by creating a 450㎡ fishing gear warehouse and drying yard, and promoted harmony among residents by replacing two floating piers and creating a multi-purpose fishermen’s center with an area of ​​500㎡.

In addition, efforts were made to create a resident-friendly space, such as creating landscape streetlights along the coastal walkway and undertaking street maintenance and sign maintenance, as well as creating a new marine waste collection site and creating a marine ecological park with a total size of 3,000 m2.

The county said that Gaemok Port in Sowon-myeon, which was selected as a Fishing Village New Deal 300 project site in 2019 along with Baeksajang Port, is also scheduled to be completed next month, and is determined to proceed without a hitch with the remaining Fishing Village New Deal 300 project sites currently in progress.
