The Cuban actress Lola Amores has been crowned with the Biznaga de Plata ‘Hotel AC Málaga Palacio’ award for Best Female Performance at the Malaga Festival for her work in the film “The Wild Woman”.
The award was announced just a few hours ago during the awards ceremony of this renowned cinematographic event that concludes tomorrow in the Andalusian city and that has brought together important creators and talents from the cinema industry at an international level.
“I adore you, Lola!” the director of the film, Cuban filmmaker Alan González, wrote on his Instagram account. “We adore each other!!!” was Amores’ response to González’s post.
The publication was also quickly filled with comments from friends, followers and colleagues. Such is the case of actress Laura de la Uz, who left these words for her countrywoman: “Congratulations Lola dear!!! Collect the fruits of beautiful, endearing work! Congratulations, to the entire team too!”
Actor Roque Moreno also wrote his letters on the social network addressed to the young filmmaker and the award-winning actress: “I am sure that Lola and all the actors and actresses who have worked with you would write things about you as beautiful as those you have said about her.” . “They both deserve the award, Málaga and the rest of the world!!!”
The presentation of “The Wild Woman” in Malaga was accompanied by part of its team, who were proud to bring this feature film to Spanish lands and to participate in its exhibition.
“Yesterday was one of those days that I will treasure forever. I went to the cinema not only as part of the cast, but as another spectator, seeing the film for the first time,” Cuban actress Grisell Monzón wrote on her Facebook profile.
For her part, the Cuban producer of the film, Claudia Calviño, described its screening as “exciting.”
“Nothing is better than discovering new things in the films that one has produced and seen a thousand times. Great Alan González, who knew how to put in every gesture, in every dialogue and action of the characters, the effect (sometimes excessive, and other times almost invisible), of the violence that we Cubans experience… sexist, sexual violence, psychological violence, and social and political violence,” Calviño wrote on Facebook.
The daughter of renowned psychologist Manuel Calviño also highlighted Amores: “Animala, my beloved Lola Amores, galactic talent; “Lola is never an actress, she is eternally Yolanda.”
“The Wild Woman” was selected among the 19 films that are part of the Official Selection of the Malaga Festival in this, its 27th edition. Since its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last August, the debut of González has not stopped receiving good reviews and more than one important award.
Amores thus adds its recent award to the one obtained during the 33rd edition of the Ceará Film Festival, held in Brazil, where in addition to being the winner in the Best Lead Performance section, the feature film won the awards for Best Film and Best Sound.
