“I filled out the declaration as required by Lithuanian laws and regulations,” G. Nausėda told reporters in the Kaunas district on Tuesday.

When journalists asked if it is possible that the value of the assets declared by the country’s leader is several times lower than the residences located in the Pavilniai Regional Park, the president replied that the methodology of asset evaluation does not depend on him.

“All this is done in the form of a mass assessment, shared between the spouses. Nothing new happened, the same value remained. I am not the one who sets the methodology for determining the value. And I think there shouldn’t be any questions here,” answered the head of the country.

ELTA reminds that the CEC published data on candidates seeking the post of president last Friday. The information provided about the declared income and assets of the candidates shows that the richest is lawyer Ignas Vēgėlė, whose assets amount to more than 1.5 million. euros.

The current head of the country, G. Nausėda, ranks third in the list. According to the CEC, his declared assets amount to 359 thousand. euros. He also states that he received over 27 thousand EUR loans, and his available funds currently amount to 20 thousand. euros.
