Automobile manufacturers are carrying out a protest action in front of the government today.

Car importer Vardan Onanyan told reporters that there are businessmen who are also engaged in importing cars, particularly from the USA.

“It is known that the prices of cars imported from abroad are much more favorable than the prices operating here. That is why there are many of our compatriots who want to wait even for 3 months, but have a better, cheaper car. What is the problem? Companies like ours sign a preliminary contract with the client, and the actual price of the car is also recorded, according to the current laws and taxes. Everything is done in a white field, there is nothing hidden. And the prices at which the cars are auctioned are also clearly visible in our SRC, and the customs clearance of the cars is, of course, carried out with that figure.

The car importer and seller decides the amount of his income. I am sure that not only our company, but also other companies did not expect big incomes from this case, because all this is seen within the limits of wholesale and in every car, even not depending on the cost of the car, we have a very small income”, he said.

According to Onanyan, last week in the second reading, the parliament adopted a law on making changes to the tax code, by which companies like theirs are forced to have a minimum income of 20 percent and, of course, they will be taxed from that 20 percent.

“I assure you that my experience of the last year shows that there was no deal where the businessman would have 20 percent income from the sale of one car. We are forced to have more income so that taxes are high. However, no one has the right to tell me how much income I should have. If the Christmas tree importer bought that Christmas tree for 1,000 drams, no one has the right to tell him not to sell it for 1,100, but to sell it for 1,200.”
