Deoria Loksabha News: BJP has nominated Shashank Mani, son of former MP Shriprakashmani Tripathi, as its candidate for Deoria Loksabha seat. Shashank’s father Lieutenant General Shriprakashmani Tripathi has also been MP from Deoria seat in 1996. Baba Pandit Surat Narayan Mani Tripathi has been an IAS. One uncle has been an MLA, while the other uncle has been the DGP of UP Police. Shashank is B.Tech from IIT Delhi.
Kaushal Kishore Tripathi, Deoria: After a long wait, BJP has declared its candidate for Deoria Loksabha Seat of Uttar Pradesh. The party has fielded Shashank Mani Tripathi, son of former MP General Shriprakash Mani Tripathi, as its candidate. Shashank Mani Tripathi is a social worker by nature. Presently he is the founder of Jagriti Yatra and Jagriti Enterprise Centre-Purvanchal (JECP). Shashank Mani Tripathi’s father Shriprakash Mani Tripathi had planted a lotus for the first time on Deoria Lok Sabha seat in 1996. Congress SP alliance gave ticket to Congress national spokesperson Akhilesh Singh from here. Whereas BSP has not yet declared its candidate.
Baba was IAS, father was Lieutenant General of Indian Army and MP
Shashank Mani Tripathi, a native of Barpar village in Deoria district, has a very strong family background. His father Pandit Surat Narayan Mani Tripathi has been an IAS of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He has been DM of several districts, Vice Chancellor of Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi and founder of Gorakhpur University. He has also been a member of the Legislative Council. Shashank’s father Shriprakash Mani Tripathi has been a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army. After retiring from the army, he joined BJP and in 1996 became MP from Deoria Lok Sabha seat on BJP ticket. For the first time in the politics of Deoria seat, it was he who gave victory to BJP by making it bloom.

Shashank Mani’s family is counted among the respected families of the state. Shashank Mani Tripathi’s uncle Srinivas Mani Tripathi has been the MLA from Gauri Bazar seat of Deoria district. He has been recognized as a flamboyant Hindu leader. Mani’s third uncle Srivilas Mani Tripathi has been an IPS officer. He has also been DGP of Uttar Pradesh Police. Many of his relatives are also appointed to good positions in the state and centre.
Shashank has studied B.Tech from IIT Delhi and MBA from abroad.
Shashank Mani Tripathi completed his schooling from Colvin Talukdar College, Lucknow. Later he did B.Tech from IIT Delhi. degree and MBA from IMD Lausanne. Presently he is the Chairman of Jagriti Yatra and Jagriti Enterprises. Shashank Mani is known as a social worker and friendly leader in the area. There is a wave of happiness among the BJP supporters of Deoria district after getting the ticket.
Akhilesh Singh is in the fray from Congress-SP alliance
In 2019, BJP had given ticket to former state president Ramapati Ram Tripathi from Deoria Lok Sabha seat. Ramapati Ram Tripathi also became an MP after winning the election. But this time the party has canceled his ticket and fielded Shashank Mani Tripathi.
Congress has got the Deoria Lok Sabha seat under the Congress-SP alliance. Congress has given ticket to national spokesperson Akhilesh Singh from Neha, while Bahujan Samaj Party has not declared its candidate yet.
