Biden has warned Putin that the United States and its allies will retaliate if Russia invades Ukraine.

Washington:

The United States has been warning for weeks that Russia will soon invade its neighbor Ukraine. The White House has announced that Americans in Ukraine will leave immediately.

In this context, US President Joe Biden held telephone talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Ukraine issue.

During the one-hour talks, Biden expressed concern about the concentration of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border.

He called on Putin to withdraw his troops immediately. Biden noted that if Russia invaded Ukraine, there would be more human casualties.

Biden then warned that if Russia attacked Ukraine, the United States and its allies would retaliate and Russia would suffer huge losses.

However, a senior US official said there was no change in Putin’s position at the end of the talks.

He said the two leaders had agreed to continue talks.
