A strong fire consumed the iconic building of the old Stock Exchange in Copenhagen, a monument to 400 years of history of Denmark. Emergency crews finally managed to control the flames after several hours of hard work.

The director of emergency services, Jakob Vedsted Andersen, confirmed that they are now focused on the work after the extinction of the fire. Unfortunately, the emblematic 54-meter arrow of the building, built between 1619 and 1640 by order of King Christian IV, collapsed during the incident.

Elisabeth Moltke, a resident moved by the loss, compared the tragedy to that of Notre Dame, expressing the feelings of many.

The fire, which started around 7:30 (local time), required the mobilization of a hundred firefighters. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
