GoPro, in collaboration with The Ocean Cleanup, has launched the Earth Day Photo Challenge for Encourage the environmental protection and raising awareness about ocean cleanup. This contest invites photographers and outdoor enthusiasts to capture and share the essence of our planet through their GoPro lenses at GoPro Awards, exploring all types of landscapes during this month.
The alliance with The Ocean Cleanup, focused since 2013 on creating solutions to eradicate plastic from the seas, highlights GoPro’s commitment to sustainability. Five winners will get a HERO12 Black and a donation will be made for them to combat ocean plastic. This is intended to promote a global effort to clean the oceans, which make up 71% of our planet.
This challenge is open to both those who want to go out and capture incredible shots of our planet and those who want to capture their favorite memories captured with GoPro in nature. To participate, photos must be shared to GoPro Awards via the Quik App or on GoPro.com/Awards before 09:59 CEST on April 20. Winners will be revealed on GoPro social media on April 22, Earth Day.
This event not only celebrates nature, but also highlights the importance of individual and collective actions in preserving the environment for future generations, demonstrating that every image and effort contributes to the care of our valuable oceans.
